London Olympics!

London baby! The time has finally come after waiting 4 long years since Bejing. I watched the Opening Ceremony on Friday night with my boyfriend. I thought it was quite interesting, yet way too long and I fell asleep for part of it. Also, I think based upon watching the parade of countries, it is necessary that I look at a globe or an Atlas. There were DEFINITELY some countries I had never heard of before! Hey, you learn something new every day.

I wish I could say I was an avid sports fan in the Olympics. Sadly, I am not. There are really only two sports I like to watch - men's swimming and women's gymnastics. Hello, who would not want to stare at either of these hotties while they swim?!

My favorite event is gymnastics. I was a big fan of the men's team back in 2000-2004. I really like the floor exercise and the uneven bars events. So naturally, I was excited for today because gymnastics was on. Only um, I recorded the events from 9:30am-6pm and I dont think the women's were until later! UGH! I luckily caught some of them but I think my DVR is set to record more tomorrow.

My main issue is how they are spread out (they'll show a 20 min gymnastics viewing and then go to a swimming event). I just wish I could watch it in one sitting!

Poor Jordyn Wieber finishing fourth for the all-around! The pictures of her crying are so sad but she should still consider herself an Olympian. I am excited to see Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas compete in the all-around. Truthfully, I am excited to see it all. And hope I can figure out what times they are on TV tomorrow so I can set my DVR up since I'll be at work allllllllll day.

My two favorite Olympians/athletes will always be one summer Olympian and one winter Olympian.

Dominique Moceanu (I really need to go buy her book!!)

Tara Lipinski -- always loved her more than Michelle Kwan!!
