Girl's Weekend in Atlantic City

This past weekend, I went to Atlantic City for the weekend with two of my girls, Shannon & Olivia. Originally, it was suppose to be the three of us and our friend Amanda but she had to back out at the last minute. :(

As soon as I got out of school on Friday (the last day!!!!) I went to pick up Shannon. We drove up to Olivia's and it was pretty much smooth sailing the whole way....until we were about 20 minutes away and sat in traffic on a road that we just needed to go 1.8 miles for an HOUR!!! As soon as we could get on the exit, I did a happy dance because I was READY to get out of the car and stretch my legs as soon as we got to Olivia's.

This time around, we decided to stay at the Tropicana. Last time we stayed at Bally's. What a difference of hotels! I will say that the Tropicana is a lot nicer but the navigation in that place is TOTALLY confusing! We ended up only going to places within our hotel both nights we went out, which is what happened last time.

The first night we started off at Cuba Libre and then ended up at Tango's. We had so much more fun at Tango's because they were playing music we loved!

I somehow ended up going to bed at 4am which AMAZES me because I had been up since 5am getting ready for the last day of school! Maybe it has something to do with the Starbucks we got at a reststop and I asked for 3 shots of espresso in my coffee.

On Saturday, we slept in late (we only left at midnight to go out!) and eventually made our way to the beach. Poor Olivia did not feel so good so she ended up going back to the hotel. It was SO nice to have my toes in the sand, feel that beachy breeze and just lay out in the sun. Only one part of my hip got burnt (I guess I missed putting sunblock there) so I am super happy about that.

On Saturday night we were going to do dinner at the Rainforest Cafe but the wait was an hour and a half! So not worth it. We decided to go to Chickie & Pete's in our hotel and save Rainforest for lunch on Sunday.  After dinner, Shannon and I got ready to go out. Olivia decided to stay in which was totally understandable because she didn't feel good.

We went back to Tango's and had a few drinks. And also danced this time! Some guy asked us where we were from and we said Long Island. He thought we were from Florida..... Maybe I should've specified New York but generally when you say Long Island, most people know it is in New York. Olivia ended up coming to meet us for froyo because that's what you get at 2am! We kinda called it an early night the second night but that was totally fine. We all said we were happy with it because we were just content being with each other.

Loved this dress! I got it for $13 at H&M and it was so comfy. Plus it is a perfect little black dress.

It was such a fun weekend to have with two of my best friends and very much needed after a hectic school year! It was the perfect way to kick off summer and I cannot wait to go back. Maybe next time I will actually gamble more. I played two slot machines and lost a total of $6. Oh well. At least I gambled this time!

{Sunday Social}

I just got back from a fantastic girls weekend getaway with two of my best friends to Atlantic City, NJ (which I plan on blogging about later this week along with the end of school). But for now, I am here for Sunday Social!

{1} What was your college major? Did you ever change majors?
My college major was Adolescence Education Spanish. I wanted to become a secondary education Spanish teacher for grades 7-12. I pretty much knew that since 8th grade! I went into college and never really changed....until I had to drop my education major spring semester senior year because they wouldn't let me student teach. Stupid & long story.

{2} What is the best purchase you made lately?
Umm...probably my non-slip crocs for work. I desperately needed new work shoes. And my first pair of Toms! I am so excited to get those in the mail!!

{3} What is something silly we don't know about you and go....
I sleep with my stuffed Olaf every night!

{4} What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas!! I love decorating, shopping for presents and wrapping.

{5} What is the first thing you do when you wake up?
Shut off my first alarm and prepare myself for the other 5 that are to come. I need those alarms because it helps me actually get my butt out of bed.

Graduation & Engagement Party!

This has been one fun week...you know, I love sitting and proctoring regents exams for 4 hours and having 3 of the 4 be SCIENCE tests! I proctored the Biology Regents, Earth Science and Physics (along with Alegbra 2/Trig). I NEVER EVER EVER want to look at another science Regents again!

On Thursday, my niece Emma graduated from Preschool! It is so hard to believe that come September, she will be in kindergarten! She was born my senior year of college. Such a little peanut!

Yesterday, was my best friend Olivia's engagement party! We all knew that it was a matter of time before Marc popped the question. We were all just "waiting" for that minute. Her parents threw an awesome engagement party yesterday and it was fun getting back together with the girls from college. We all have seen each other here & there but it has probably been 3 years since we were ALL together!

{Disney World 2014 - Epcot!!}

The other day I finally go to posting about my trip to visit my BFF April during my spring break. We had gone to Magic Kingdom for a day and then went to Epcot the next day. I wish that I could have stayed longer but I flew home on Easter since I had to go to school on Tuesday and Monday I was babysitting. Oh well...next time!!

When we went, the Flower & Garden festival was going on. I can now cross that off my "bucket list." It was so cool to see!

Chip & Dale

Buzz Lightyear

We hit up the Epcot character spot.

Minnie!

I am so glad we went during the flower & garden festival. The details were just amazing!

Later in the evening, we went to a concert by a group April liked near the American pavillion in Epcot. It was pretty neat.

Mary Poppins

I am proud of the fact that I am 27 and still take character pictures!

 Loved these!

Beauty and the Beast was my favorite Disney movie when I was little (and still is one of my favorites!). Chip is my favorite character.

Another thing I love about Epcot is going around the World Showcase! It's the language teacher in me.

 Lady & the Tramp in Italy

Part of the Dwarfs

Overall, I had an awesome two days at Disney World with my best friend April! It was so good to finally see her after not seeing her for months. I wish I could have spent more time visiting her but maybe next time!

{Surprise Baby Shower!}

Last Sunday, my co-workers and I threw my one co-worker Anjelica a surprise baby shower! Back in the fall when she told me she was pregnant, I came up with this novel idea that we, as a team, should throw her a shower. Anjelica is one of the SWEETEST people you will ever meet. She is a true genuine person that is always concerned about those around her.

I approached my manager and he thought it was a great idea. He said he would cover the cost of the food and let us have it at the restaurant. I got two of my other co-workers, Danielle and Meaghan, to help me collect money from everyone to get decorations and drinks, etc. We thought we would have a hard time getting it from the guys but everyone forked the $$ over once we told them $10 would get them lots of food & booze!

We invited Anjelica's parents & her brother to see her reaction. Figuring out how to get her there was a bit tricky since she doesn't work nights. One of our managers Alyssa said we should tell her it was the high five meeting and we had to hype it up.

We TOTALLY pulled off the surprise. Her fiancee brought her there and when she walked in, we ALL yelled surprise and she immediately started shaking. She had no idea that her work family could keep a secret from her for two months!

Danielle & Meaghan's friend make the sign for the baby's room and Danielle's mom made the diaper cake!

Under age had to drink from baby bottles

The work family. We may be one big dysfunctional group but we work well together. <3
