The last Sunday Social

Today is apparently the last Sunday social link up with Ashley & Neely. What?!  Where was I when that announcement was made? However, Ashley did say a new one is coming about in November so I am excited to see what that is all about. I just love finding new blogs and meeting new people!

So this week's theme is going back to the first round of Sunday Social questions!

{1} How did you come up with your blog name?
I remember being at home after having surgery and was reading adoption blogs. I just kept stumbling upon blogs and then decided to start one myself. I wanted something that meant something to me and there came "Live Laugh Love." It's my life motto. You gotta live and enjoy every minute of every day. You need to laugh at yourself and the little things in life, otherwise it's torture. And most importantly, love.

{2} What is your favorite thing about blogging?
Meeting new people and connecting about things you have in common! I love finding other teachers and I have found many great tips/techniques to use in my classroom. 

{3} What is one thing you discovered because of blogging and now cannot live without?
Hmm...probably RueLaLa or HauteLook! 

{4} Facebook or Twitter...why?
Facebook! I love adding pictures.

{5} If one celeb read your blog, who would you want it to be?
Jennifer Aniston! Hands down, my favorite actress!!

{6} What is something you want someone to know about your blog? 
I am not trying to be fake and impress people. I don't care about sponsorship and how many followers I have. it's not a numbers game to me. I just want a place to look back on memories and connect with others!

Happy Labor Day weekend everyone!! I am spending it....laboring aka working! I did have Friday off and did a little back to school clothes shopping for me. My mother tells me "No one in that school has seen your wardrobe before" but I couldn't pass up the sales at the outlets. 

Also, how is it LABOR DAY weekend already?! Feels like it was just snowing!

{1} What is the one thing you hate doing?
I would say that it would be getting up out of bed. I am more of a night owl then an early bird (beats me why I picked a profession where I have to get up at 5:30am!) so when I have to get up early, it's not pretty. So it's either that or cleaning a bathroom. Ha!

{2} What is one thing you hate shopping for?
Can't it be two? LOL. I think the hardest thing I hate shopping for is pants. If they fit perfectly in the waist, they are too long or vice versa. If I find a pair that fits perfectly, I want to buy them in every day. I also despise shopping for shoes. 

{3} What is one thing you love doing?
Traveling!! I still say my study abroad experience 6 years ago was the BEST thing I ever did! I flew into Granada (spent 2.5 days there), spent 2.5 days in Marbella, went to Cadiz, went to Barcelona, lived in Sevilla. I also visited Ireland, Amsterdam and England. And I went on a cruise. I love to travel. I am itching to go to Italy, France, Greece and Hawaii!

{4} What is one place you love going?
Target! Seriously, it was a bad idea that they built one 5 minutes from my house. 

{5} What is your favorite thing to do that you do daily?
Walk my dog, Lily. It makes me exercise and it allows me to think/clear my head while listening to music or just enjoying the nice weather. I'll miss it when it's like 5 degrees outside!!

{1} What is one item you wish you could splurge on right now?
Honestly, I really want to eventually have a LV bag. I am such a purse person (I have so many I get purse ADD and change them like I did today). I just need to pay off more of my student loans.

{2} If you had an entire weekend of no plans what would you do?

Oh I would be a TOTAL bum. I would stay in bed in my pajamas all weekend and watch tv/movies and drink wine. 

{3} What is the next place you're visiting outside of your current city?

I am hoping to go back to Orlando in December/January to go visit my best friend April and go to Disney together.

{4} Are you a neat freak or a clutterbug?

I like to think I am somewhere in the middle. I don't need things OVERLY neat but I do like it to be tidy. However, there are times when my room is clean and then I just throw stuff on the floor because Im so busy/tired to put it away.

{5} What is your favorite summer purchase?

Probably my zip around Coach wristlet that has a pocket/space for my iPhone 5s in its lifeproof case!

1. One Show you would love to see on Netflix that isn't there:
Oh boy...I don't know how I feel about admitting this but 7th Heaven. I was addicted to that show when I was growing up and wanted to watch it recently. I don't think my library has the DVDs. Or Everwood!

2. One song you wish they would play more on the radio?
Anything by Luke Bryan!! I swear, I can go to three of the presets in my car at any time and find the same song playing. #annoying.

3. Your favorite song to sing loudly in a car?
There are so many!! My favorites would definitely be "Who Let the Dogs Out" by Baha Men and "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley

4. What movie/TV show do you quote the most?
TV show: FRIENDS or Gilmore Girls. I know more of those quotes than Grey's (which is another fav show of mine).

Movie: Mean Girls or Bridesmaids!!

5. One silly thing you do daily:
Hmm....probably hold my dog Lily like a baby.

Happy Sunday everyone!!! I cannot believe it is already AUGUST!!! What?!?! I have roughly a good month left of summer break and then it's time to start school. Oh boy!

{1} Gum or mints?
I will have either. I generally have a pack of gum in my work bag or my purse because I like popping in a piece after having a coffee or my lunch. Mints are usually what I have when I am at the restaurant since they don't want us chewing gum in front of our tables.

{2} Tea or coffee?
If you've read my blog, you should know that I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE MY COFFEE!! I do occasionally like tea but honestly, it is not a pretty sight without my coffee. I have had up to 7 cups of coffee a day but I don't know how I ever lived without it.

{3} Fruits or veggies?
I actually like more fruits then veggies. I love cantaloupe, watermelon, green grapes, apples, oranges, bananas. I typically only like carrots, green beans or corn for veggies.

{4} TV or movies?
I like both a lot. I am perfectly fine with spending a Friday night in my PJs in my bed watching movies or TV with a glass of wine in my hand. I would say I like more TV then movies (I am a comedy and chick flick girl) but most of my favorite shows are off the air! Lately I have been binge watching Gilmore Girls DVDs and I am currently on season 4. I miss this show!

{5} Candles or diffusers?
I would say candles. I have a beach scented one that I am burning in my room at night so it's got a nice summer feel to it.

I have been sort of slacking in the blog department lately but that's okay. Life has been busy but I have some AMAZING news that I can't wait to share this week!

Definitely Now & Then, The Notebook, and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I want to watch the last two now!

I have a pair of gray Nike pants that seriously I could live in for days, the black & white striped dress I wore in some of my pictures from when I went to Block Island (it's from The Loft) and my Grumpy coffee pjs!

I read this book one summer for 10th grade English Honors. Cried my eyes out. So good and it's the author's real life story.

{1} What is your favorite genre of music?

I would honestly have to say probably pop music. I love those catchy tunes that "get stuck in your head." Most of my iTunes is pop music (Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, One Direction, etc) with a mix of country (which comes in as a close second) and rap. My taste is ALL over the place!!


{2} What is your favorite genre of movies?
Comedy and drama. Two of my favorites:

 

{3} Do you watch reality TV? If so, what was the first show you remember watching?

Survivor: Australian Outback.   I remember my mom being in a pool to see who won and I watched it to see how the person she got did (who was Elizabeth Hasselback....many moons ago!!). Now, I have my "guilty pleasure" reality TV shows!

{4} Who is an actress you'd want to be BFFs with?

 Hands down...Jennifer Aniston!!

{5} Who is an actor you would be happy to be stuck with on an island?

Channing Tatum!!!

I just got back from a fantastic girls weekend getaway with two of my best friends to Atlantic City, NJ (which I plan on blogging about later this week along with the end of school). But for now, I am here for Sunday Social!


{1} What was your college major? Did you ever change majors?
My college major was Adolescence Education Spanish. I wanted to become a secondary education Spanish teacher for grades 7-12. I pretty much knew that since 8th grade! I went into college and never really changed....until I had to drop my education major spring semester senior year because they wouldn't let me student teach. Stupid & long story.

{2} What is the best purchase you made lately?
Umm...probably my non-slip crocs for work. I desperately needed new work shoes. And my first pair of Toms! I am so excited to get those in the mail!!

{3} What is something silly we don't know about you and go....
I sleep with my stuffed Olaf every night!

{4} What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas!! I love decorating, shopping for presents and wrapping. 

{5} What is the first thing you do when you wake up?
Shut off my first alarm and prepare myself for the other 5 that are to come. I need those alarms because it helps me actually get my butt out of bed.

My mom, Amanda, Shannon, Olivia, Stephanie, Marisa, or Cheryl and Georgia (two teachers I work with)

2. Where do you go when you need alone time?

Usually, my bedroom. And I will watch tv or a movie. And sometimes out shopping to Target or the mall!

3. What is your favorite alone time activity?

Napping!! Seriously, I love sleeping. And just watching movies. I have a secret thing for Lifetime movies. Lol.

4. What is something we should all stop and read right now?

I would say Emily Giffin's new book but that doesn't come out til May 20th!! But I would say the Fault in Our Stars. I wanna read it before the movie comes out June 6th!!

5. Who do you wish would read your blog that doesn't already? Family? Celeb?

My family does not read my blog. Ha ha. It would make my day if Jennifer Aniston ever found it and read it,  ha ha!!

Happy Sunday everyone!! It is a gorgeous day outside and I plan on taking my puppy for a walk before I spend my night at work.

{1} When did you join Twitter?

I literally just went back and scrolled through all of my twitter. I joined 5 years ago in 2009 when I was still in college!!

{2} Who is your favorite non-celeb to follow?

Any friends that don't live close by!

{3} Who is your favorite celebrity to follow?

I actually feel like I follow more celebrities then actual friends, ha ha! 

Emily Giffin is one of my favorite authors so I love reading her tweets. So excited for her book on 5/20!!

{4} Have you ever had a celebrity respond to a tweet?

Yes!! I also follow Dominique Moceanu, a gymnast from the 1996 Olympics team, who wrote a book. When I finished her book, I was tweeting that I cried because it was so beautiful and she retweeted it! 

{5} What is your favorite store/brand to follow?

I follow Victoria's Secret, Vera Bradley and The Loft.

{6} Give us three tweeps we should be following:
Common White Girl - these tweets crack me up.
BabEvansMTV - Okay, if you have ever watched a season of Teen Mom, you'd know it's Jenelle's mom. It's an unofficial twitter but the tweets are done in her mom's voice so it is too funny!

Good morning, everyone!! I am currently inhaling my coffee as I blog and watch Lily sleep passed out on the couch. As if that is her clue to say "Nah mom, I don't need a walk." I tried my first baking experience from a pin last night on Pinterest and took pictures on my phone during each step! That is going to be a blog post later this week but for now, it is Sunday Social time!

{1} What is your ideal way to relax?

My ideal way to relax is to stay in my pajamas and be in bed with either a glass of wine or a Diet Coke and watching TV. Sometimes I don't even need a drink. I just like that mental escape from reality!

{2} Where is your favorite place to be?

With friends or family, having a good time.

{3} Who do you consider your biggest role model?

Definitely my mother. I remember having to write an essay about your role model or the woman you admired most in French 4AP in high school. My teacher called the house because the story made her cry and she wanted me to share it with my mom. I really admire my mother for raising 5 kids on her own, one who has a disability when my father died unexpectedly.She is so selfless and giving towards others. If I can be half of the mother that she has been to me, I will be satisfied in life.

{4} What does your life look like in three years?

Dear Lord, I will be 30! Did I just say that? I hope by that point I have a full-time teaching job, living on my own and possibly engaged/married. We shall see!

{5} If you could go back and change one decision, what would it be?

I am pretty satisfied with the choices I have made. Maybe it would have been to have traveled more when I was studying abroad.

{6} What is your biggest accomplishment in life thus far?

Getting my Bachelor's and Master's degrees no matter the obstacles that were thrown in my direction. I may not have my own classroom right now but I sure will get there! Things will happen when I least expect it and this is the mantra I plan on following.

{1} How much time do you spend on social media a day?....be honest.

When I am at school, I am only usually on it during my off periods/lunch. If it is a slow night at work, I am usually on it when I am in the kitchen. Probably too much but it is addicting!!

{2} How long were you reading blogs before you started your own?

Probably about a week or two. I remember I had surgery and I couldn't work so I somehow discovered blogs. It unrolled from there and then I decided "I should start one!" because it would be a good therapy outlet.

{3} What is your favorite kind of cupcake?

Chocolate, funfetti or red velvet!! This question is making my mouth water.

{4} Do you eat fast food? If so, what is your favorite?

I am trying not to eat it a lot but last night I had a craving for McDonalds so I had it. I wish we had a Chick-Fil-A in  New York. They are so good!

{5} What is the most random thing someone would find in your purse?

Probably my wine key for the restaurant I work in.

{6} What is the weirdest TV show you watch?

Probably Here Comes Honey Boo Boo!

This week's questions are all about Pinterest!! I am seriously addicted to Pinterest. I have the app on my phone and my iPad. When I am bored, it is what I browse on the web. I have found so many things for my future classroom on there!

I wish I knew how to link the pins from Pinterest in my blog post so I don't have to do it the old fashioned way. 

1. What is your favorite outfit pin?

Except the heels...I feel more comfortable in flats.

2. What is your favorite food pin? 

 My mouth waters just looking at it. I haven't made this one yet!

3. What is your favorite wedding pin?

Okay, this is kinda impossible for me so I am going to list my top 5!Ha ha!

This may be my all-time favorite pin. I want my future husband to look like this as I walk down the aisle towards him. 

I would be the person that does this at their wedding. Got to have a little fun!

I am getting a shot like this with my girlfriends. This is so us.

I actually haven't tried any of the DIY projects on Pinterest. However, the one that interests me the most:

I need something like this in my room. It would make wearing my jewelry so much easier!

I just pinned this the other day. I truly find it inspiring.

This week it is about flashbacks to middle school and high school!!

{1} What was your biggest middle school fashion mistake?

Hmm...maybe falling into the Pac Sun craze. And probably bell bottom jeans..ha ha!

{2} Who were your best friends in high school? Pics?

April and I have been best friends since middle school. It's also her birthday today! Happy Birthday to my best friend! 

(Us on Senior Cut day...we were such babies and my hair is SO long!)

{3} What was a typical weekend like for you in high school?

In my junior/senior years of high school, I worked at Rite Aid as a cashier. If I wasn't there, I would be hanging out with my friends or doing homework. Such a nerd, ha ha!

{4} Did you have any boyfriends/girlfriends? Tell us about that.

Nope, I never dated in high school. Infact, I did not have my first boyfriend until AFTER I graduated from college. I had a lot of crushes in high school though.

{5} Did you have any secret codes with your friends? Spill your secrets!

We had certain nicknames for people. I believe in middle school we even had a club called W.H.A.C. for someone we didn't like. Now I realize how mean that was! Haha!

{6} If you could relive one day/moment/experience from middle school or high school, what would it be?

Hmm...maybe some of field trips we had like the 7th grade one to Boston (love that city!!) or senior prom. I had a lot of fun at prom just dancing the night away.

{1} What is your favorite breakfast food?

I have never been a big breakfast person but either a bagel with cream cheese or oatmeal does me good!

{2} What is the best way to spend a free day?

SLEEP IN to start!! I slept in until 9:30 this morning and it felt glorious! Then stay in bed and watch tv/movies/catch up on the DVR or go shopping!

{3} If you had an airline ticket to anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Tough choice!!!  Probably Paris, France. It's the one place I wish (among many) I had gone when I was abroad and I would love to practice using my French there.

{4} You can only leave the house with one thing...what is it?

Probably my cell phone. Sad, but true. I feel "naked" when it is not with me. If it was an emergency, my dog!

{5} How do you take your coffee?

I like my coffee LIGHT & SWEET. I do not enjoy it being dark and there is no way in the world I could drink it black. That is probably an acquired taste. I like creamer (French Vanilla or Hazelnut) and some splenda. I love my coffee!!
