As of 4pm today when I clocked out at work, I am now officially on vacation for the next 8 days! WAHOO! I was so ready and barely wanted to be at work today. I am sitting in the middle of a mess aka my bedroom as I try to finish packing. Nothing like waiting til the last minute!
I will be absent from the blog world after today for awhile as the boytoy John and I cruise on the Carnival Miracle ship! We're going to Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, and Nassau, Bahamas. I AM SO EXCITED! I have never been on a cruise and I want to see the crystal blue water! I hope to get color and enjoy myself. I know I will have a *ton* of blog posts to catch up on when I get back but I am certainly going to have a great time.
Today was Mother's Day. We went out to breakfast at a diner and of course, I had to shovel my food down because the wait was 45 minutes before we were sat (there were 9 of us) and I had to race off to work. I scratched my front bumper on the way to work (not happy about that). But the greatest surprise was my 7 year old goddaughter bought me a plant at school & wrote me a card for Mother's Day since I am her godmother. It made my day! I love that kid so much! Gotta find her something special on the trip. I gave my mom a Like Mother, Like Daughter broken heart necklace. We each have one half. I ordered it off etsy and she loved it!
I am so thankful to have the mother I do. Even though I know I drive her crazy and vice versa, she is one amazing woman. I give her more credit in the world for raising five children by herself, especially after losing her husband and one child had a disability. She is the definition of a strong woman. She has taught me my savvy shopping skills, is a shoulder to cry on, a best friend, and someone I can always count on. Happy mother's day Mom! I love you!
I wanted to pay my bills before I went away....and I did. Only I made the mistake that I thought my Old Navy Visa bill was due the 15th and infact, it was due the 13th. Ooops. Oh well. Live & learn and deal with the late fee. It's a part of life! Sometimes I wish money grew on trees. At least I can enjoy my vacation now!
Did anyone else watch the series finale of Desperate Housewives tonight? I thought they did a good job tying it all up but it was kind of sad! I am a little peeved I am missing the Bachelorette and Grey's Anatomy but oh well. The Caribbean is more appealing!
I sincerely hope my brother gets his car situation fixed while I am away. He is borrowing my car but the day I come home, it is mine. Honestly, it's pathetic that he is 30 and can't figure out how to fix this situation. Really. I love him dearly, but his pathetic attitude needs to change. I feel bad saying it but it is the truth and has to be said. I just told him like 5 times that he better not give me a song & dance about borrowing my car when I get back.
Have fun on your trip and take lots of pictures!!
